At Shrub Club Community Nursery in Apollo Bay, we grow locally indigenous plants from across the Otways — all grown from seed we collect by hand from Wye River to Johanna. From coastal ecosystems to tall wet forests and the ancient rainforests of the ranges, our seed is sourced from the landscapes these plants belong to.
Because our plants are truly local, they’re perfectly adapted to Otway conditions — our soils, rainfall, winds and climate. We grow everything outdoors to ensure strong, resilient stock suited to real-world planting.
Our range includes ferns, wildflowers, groundcovers, grasses, shrubs and trees, spanning a diversity of ecosystems. Whether you’re planning revegetation, establishing a shelter belt, or choosing beautiful indigenous species for your garden, our plants are the right fit for this place.
Seed collection and propagation are led by our Landcare facilitators and supported by a passionate team of dedicated volunteers. We follow horticultural best practice to produce healthy, robust and genetically diverse plants.
Our plants are mostly grown in forestry tubes, as well as a selection of garden plants in 14cm pots. We can grow in hikos or lannens on request for large orders.
