Position: Participants, Green Army
Location: Southern Otways (Apollo Bay and associated locations)
The Southern Otway Landcare Network (SOLN) and the Conservation Ecology Centre (CEC) deliver a diverse range of Natural Resource Management projects including habitat restoration, revegetation, flora and fauna monitoring, sustainable agriculture and pest plant and animal control. SOLN and the CEC are pleased to be hosting three consecutive Green Army teams along the Great Ocean Road to deliver local conservation outcomes.
The Green Army is an Australian Government initiative that provides opportunities for Australians aged 17-24 years to gain training and experience in the environmental and heritage conservation fields through participation in practical projects that deliver benefit to our natural and cultural environment.
Participants in the Green Army must be Australian citizens between the ages of 17 and 24.
You should have an interest in the environment, a desire to learn through practical work and the ability to work in a team environment with other young people.
You will be involved in Green Army work for up to 30 hours a week (Mon – Thur) for 20 – 26 weeks from mid April and will undertake accredited training modules working towards a Certificate II Conservation & Land Management.
Participants receive an allowance of between $10.34 – $16.78 an hour. This depending on year of completion of secondary schooling.
