Wandering Trad on the Ford and Barham

Wandering Trad (Tradescantia fluminensis/albiflora) is a creeping ground cover plant native to South America which is very good at occupying disturbed earth and smothering surrounding vegetation. It’s tolerant of shade and enjoys damp conditions. Unfortunately this makes the rivers of the Otways ideal habitat for Wandering Trad to become established. Infestations of Wandering Trad have been identified on the east and west branches of the Barham river and along the Ford river. SOLN have begun an extensive mapping and control program along these priority waterways. Please contact SOLN to report Wandering Trad on your property and we can include you in our current program or add this information to our extensive weed database which helps us to direct future management activities.
