Macro photography workshop

Don’t forget that on the evening of Thursday the 8th of December, the president of the Southern Otway Landcare Network Ros Jamieson will presenting a workshop on the art of macro (close up) photography. Ros is a passionate and experienced photographer and her workshop is suitable for all skill levels. Bring your camera along so that Ros can help you with issues specific to your equipment.  7.30 pm, Thursday 8th of September, CFA Meeeting Room, 28 Pascoe Street Apollo Bay. Wildflower Shows

Two wildflower shows are being held over the coming weeks. On the weekend of Sunday the 24th and 25th of September, the Angair Wildflower Weekend and Art Show will be held at the Anglesea Memorial Hall, 3 McMillan St, Anglesea. The show will include native and indigenous flowers,  terrestrial orchids of the Anglesea / Airey’s Inlet area, local arts and crafts and guided bus and walking tours. The Brisbane Ranges Wildflower Show is being held on Sunday October 9th at the Anakie Hall, Staughton Vale Road Anakie. There will be wildflower diplays, bus tours, workshops, environmental stalls, bushwalking, photographic displays and native plant sales. Visit http://home.vicnet.net.au/~fobr/wildflowershow.

Fire risk and climate variability in Western Victoria

The Otway Agroforestry Network have organised a day of workshops and presentations relating to fire behaviour and ecosystems. Events will include a presentation from Dr Kevin Tolhurst, Senior Lecturer in Fire Ecology and Management at the University of Melbourne and a  demonstration of fire behaviour in different landscapes with a focus on vegetation or Agroforestry design features to minimise risk. The workshop will be held from 10 – 4pm on Friday 16th September 2011 at the Bambra Hall, cnr Winchelsea-Deans Marsh Rd and Bambra-Airey’s Inlet Rd.
